On and off (the hill)..agian

This weekend we invaded the lake region of New Hampshire and laid siege to the Hipple household for three days of skiing, game playing, ping-pong, music, and good times.  Getting together with this group of friends en mass is always just what the doctor ordered.  Saturday the kids got to enjoy the majesty of Abnaki ski area, a small municipal ski hill that is pure awesome.

Thanks to Sarah the kids mastered the rope-tow, and who doesn't enjoy a nice sugar buzz while sitting around the unmistakeable ambiance of a crowded ski lodge!

This place is pure gold and it has ruined other ski destinations for my kids.  If you love small, community run ski hills then check out this movie: United We Ski.

Then Sunday we headed up to Waterville Valley to watch Jackson kill it in a freeskiing competition.  Then back to homebase to tip a few back and keep warm with old friends.

2 ounces Makers Mark Bourbon
6-8 Ounces Vermont Switchel
A few drops of Orange Bitters
Shake and serve on the rocks

The past three months..

have reminded me that every second of this advertisement is true.

Even the last five seconds held true to how we (I'm speaking for my wife here but, we've discussed it enough that I can include her) felt when I discovered that my kids were on their way.  However, having three kids spaced over almost 9 years, I'm not so sure that my scream would be one of joy if I found out that there was a fourth on the way.
